    1. Download the current zip file from the Joomla Official Website here.
    1. Uncompress the zip file using WinZip or WinRAR to a temporary directory in your local computer.
    1. Since Joomla is a complete website package we will be uploading the files to the root folder.
      You can upload Joomla files to the web server using a FTP client. For FTP upload instructions, please click here.
      For this example, Joomla will be uploaded to the root folder /var/www/html/ and the website address will be http://www.yourdomain.com/* Please be advised that if you have an existing website you may either want to back it up to a folder or download it to your local computer. Since, when you install Joomla in the root folder it will over write any existing files that it needs to.
    1. Run the install script on your server by going to http://www.yourdomain.com/installation with your web browser, replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain and follow the instructions.Pre-Installation Check 1-2

    1. Click on the Next button at the top right of the page after everything is set correctly.
    1. Please read the Joomla license. If you agree, click the Next button at the top right of the page.

    1. Fill in the following :
      (Assume you had already setup your MySQL database. If you have not, please click here to see the MySQL creation tutorial.)

        • Host Name : 127.0.0.1
        • MySQL User Name : member ID
        • MySQL Password : member password
        • MySQL Database Name : yourdomain_com_-_db
        • MySQL Table Prefix : jos_
        • Drop Existing Tables : Unchecked
        • Backup Old Tables :
        • Install Sample Data : Checked

    1. Click the Next button at the top right of the page. When prompted, click the OK button. The database tables will now be added

    1. Be sure the following is set correctly:* URL: http://www.yourdomain.com/joomla (Replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name, and joomla with the name of the directory you installed Joomla into.

      * Path: /var/html/www/joomla (Make the same replacements as you did above.)

      * Your E-mail: (Any E-mail sent to the site administrator will go to the E-mail address you type in here. You must provide a valid E-mail address here.)

      * Admin password: (Pick a password for your administrator account. Note that the username will always be ‘admin’ unless you change it within Joomla after installation.)

      * Leave the CHMOD options at default (Don’t CHMOD). You can always change them later in the Joomla configuration.

      * Click the Next button at the top right of the page when done.
