Easy Poll

Easy Poll is a PHP script to create your own poll. It's very easy to install and run. Design of the poll is fully editable, you may insert the poll into any page you want. You can use it on an unlimited number of webpages for free.

This tutorial explains to you how to configure your Easy Poll to publish to your Doteasy server. To follow this tutorial you will need to have your Doteasy Member ID and password, an Easy Poll scripts and an internet connection.

Easy Poll : Installation Guide :



  1. Download the current zip file from the Easy Poll's Official Website here.


  2. Uncompress the zip file using WinZip or WinRAR to a temporary directory in your local computer.


  3. You can create a folder called "Poll" in the "/var/www/html" directory. Then you can upload all the Easy Poll files to the web server using a FTP client. For FTP upload instructions, please click here.


  4. Open www.yourdomain.com/Poll/setup.php file via your Web Browser to begin the installation. Please replace yourdomain with your domain name.


  5. Following are the settings for the installations:

    Mysql database host: 127.0.0.1

    Mysql database username: Your database user name

    Mysql database password: Your database password

    Name of mysql database : Your database name

    Table name: Do not need to change.

    Full path to the folder where this scripts is installed. No trailing slash: Do not need to change.

    URL of the directory where your php scripts are installed. No trailing slash: Do not need to change.

    URL of a page to display after a vote has been sent: Do not need to change.

  6. Go to the admin area (both username and password are "admin1"), to "configuration" and enter a value to each field.

    Now you can create a poll and check if all works fine. The poll may be added to any page by inserting

    to the place where the poll should be viewable.


    Each visitor voting in the poll gets a cookie so nobody will be able to vote again in the same poll.

    Copy and paste the scripts code to the html souce file to test the poll scripts.

  4. Grant write permissions on configuration file - Drupal comes with a default.settings.php file in the sites/default directory. Drupal's installer will modify the settings.php file as needed with the details you provide during the installation process.

    3.3. If you want to use the SkinFiles plugin to edit files, you'll need to change the permissions on all files and directories under the /skins/ directory. To be able to edit files, they should be chmodded to 666. To be able to create new files or directories, the parent directory should be chmodded to 777.

Boast Machine : Platinum 3.1 Installation Tutorial:



  1. Download the current zip file from the Boast MachineOfficial Website here.


  2. Uncompress the zip file using WinZip or WinRAR to a temporary directory in your local computer.


  3. You can create a folder called "blog" in the "/var/www/html" directory. Then you can upload Boast Machine files to the web server using a FTP client. For FTP upload instructions, please click here*.

    For this example, Boast Machine will be uploaded to /var/www/html/blog/ directory and the website address will be http://www.yourdomain.com/blog

  4. While still in the FTP Client :

    Change file permissions using your FTP client, select the file by clicking on it once on the remote system side and then right-click on the file to bring up the option menu and select CHMOD.
    /blog/ - 777 (Parent directory)
    /blog/backup - 777
    /blog/files - 777
    /blog/templates - 777
    /blog/rss - 777
    /blog/bmc/inc/lang - 777
    /blog/bmc/inc/vars - 777
    /blog/bmc/inc/vars/cache - 777
    (assuming that /blog is the parent directory)

  5. Run the install script on your server (by going to http://www.yourdomain.com/blog/bmc/install.php with your web browser) and follow the instructions.

    Fill in the necessary information in the following fields (Assume you had already setup your MySQL database. If you have not, please click here to see the MySQL creation tutorial.)

    Autoset Directory Permissions : Unchecked
    MySQL server : 127.0.0.1
    MySQL user : your Doteasy.com member ID
    MySQL password : your MySQL database password
    MySQL database : domain_com_-_db
    Overwrite Existing Tables : Uncheck
    Create New Database : Uncheck

    Desired Admin User Name : user name of your choice
    Password : password
    Password #2 : repeat password for confirmation

    Once everything is enterd, click "Continue".


  6. In your FTP client, chmod the /var/www/html/blog/ folder to permission 755 so that the script will be able to load.


  7. You can now see your new boastMachine Blog by going to http://www.yourdomain.com/blog.

HiQ Formmail is a form handler which has the ability to email attachments. Since the script is configured using config file(s) there are no required form fields. There are a limited number of form fields which can in some limited cases, be used to override configuration file entries.

Original Features:
Multiple attachments, Limit types of attachments allowed, Block attachments by extension, Multiple recipients and Bcc(s), Auto responder, Custom header/footers for output, redirect and more.

Version 2.0 - many new features added.
Ability to select a subset of the defined recipients
Choose column or row display for multiple entry fields.
Enhanced ability to block attachment of files by defining VALID extensions only.

Installation of HiQ Formmail Installation Tutorial:




  1. Download the current zip file here
    .


  2. Uncompress the zip file using WinZip or WinRAR to a temporary directory in your local computer.


  3. Naturally enough you will need to create a form on your website which passes the required information on to HiQ Formmail. If unsure how to create a form, you could try utilizing a product such as NVU which is a simple to use, free open source WYSIWYG html editor as it includes an easy to use form creation facility. Regardless of this issue, HiQ Formmail includes a test form in the zip file so you can test HiQ’s functionality whether you have created your form yet or not.


  4. When creating your own form, note that the Action needs to point to the HiQ Formmail file, HiQFM.php.

    For Example:

  5. create a folder below your HiQ folder for the temporary files HIQ creates. This folder must be called “TEMP_FILES” – note the capitals and underscore and make sure your folder is called exactly this.

  6. Using notepad, notetab or your preferred text editor, edit the configuration file, HiQFMConfig.conf. To start with, make only the one change. Change the [recipient] value to be your email address. Save the change and exit your editor.

  7. Next step is put all of this online. You will need to create the HiQ folders(directories) on your server and will need to upload all of the HiQ files to the appropriate directory on the server.

    For Example:
    /var/www/html/formmail/

    The URL to the HiQFormMail will be: http://www.yourdomain.com/formmail/

  8. To test simply go to the supplied test page ie. http://www.yourdomain.com/formmail/test.htm. To keep things simple initially, do not change any of the values on the form, simply submit it and see if it your submission is successful and a result gets to your email.


  9. Once you have proved the basics are working you can then go on to test with your own form(s). The one copy of HiQ Formmail will work for multiple forms if both forms have the same required fields.


  10. You may of course customize the various header and footer files er_header_def.htm er_footer_def.htm header_def.htm footer_def.htm to match in with the rest of your website.
