Calendarix Basic v0.8.20080808



Calendarix allows for unlimited calendars for unlimited users with a central administration system. It also allows for public view of calendar without editing abilities unless user logs in and an approval system for adding of events.

Calendarix : Installation Guide :



  1. Download the current zip file from the Calendarix Official Website here.


  2. Uncompress the zip file using WinZip or WinRAR to a temporary directory in your local computer.


  3. You can create a folder called "calendar" in the "/var/www/html" directory. Then you can upload all the Calendarix files to the web server using a FTP client. For FTP upload instructions, please click here.

    For this example, Calendarix will be uploaded to /var/www/html/calendar/ directory and the website address will be http://www.yourdomain.com/calendar.


  4. Setup your MySQL database in the Site Admin Panel. Please click here for more information.

    In phpMyAdmin (access through your Site Admin Panel), open /admin/create_cal.sql file with any text editor, copy and paste the contents to the "Run SQL query/queries on database" field box in the phpMyAdmin (under the "SQL" section).

    Click "Go" to continue. You should be able to see the message "Your SQL query has been executed successfully".

    This will display the tables and the variables needed for Calendarix to run correctly. For more information see your phpMyAdmin documentation.

  5. Open the cal_db.inc.php file with any text editor and check the database references. Enter the correct database name, database login name, password and host address. Make the necessary changes and save the file.

    Note: Please use "127.0.0.1" for the dbhost.

  6. Optional: Open cal_config.inc.php file and change the variables to customize the calendar.


  7. Start your FTP software and upload the directory to your web server preserving the file structure.

  8. Congratulations, the installation of Calendarix is now complete. You can check your Calendarix at http://www.yourdomain.com/calendar.

    To test you newly installed Calendarix you can use the following user name and passwords :


    Username : test
    Password : testing


    You can login as the Administrator using the following info (please remember to update the admin password later) :


    Username : admin
    password : admin
